 FAQs

  • First, we aim to PREVENT negative behaviors by adhering to a set schedule and intentionally teaching social-emotional skills. Children in our school learn to identify and express their thoughts and feelings in an appropriate manner. When negative behavior does happen, the teachers utilize POSITIVE BEHAVIOR GUIDANCE. The teachers take the time to LISTEN to the child and help them LEARN from the situation. The teachers will also COMMUNICATE any major or reoccurring issues with the parents.

  • While it is not a requirement, it is developmentally appropriate for your child to be fully potty trained by age 4; the teachers will partner with you to help your child learn to use the toilet if they have not yet mastered this skill. Accidents can still happen at this age and that is okay.

  • The Universal PreK hours are 8:15 -2:35. Our school runs a separate program for after school hours on site for children PreK - 5th graders. This program is available at a discounted cost for our Preschool students.

  • If your child has allergies or religious exemptions, we will accommodate these requirements. Please let us know and we will review our menus with you to make sure we can make adjustments and have appropriate substitutions. Our school serves breakfast, snack, and lunch. The menus are available to all families.

  • Our preschool program is a part of the Universal PreK program that is funded by New York City and is FREE to all residents during our set hours of care. (8:15am - 2:35pm)
